A simple saute is all green beans need to create a beautiful side dish that is delicious with just about any meal! Take them up a notch by adding garlic and Sauteed Garlic Green Beans are born. So easy and yet so delicious. I make them ALL.THE.TIME!
Trim the stem end of the beans only, leaving the tail. Put the beans in a skillet with about ¼ cup of water, put a lid on, and turn the stove to medium high.
Bring to a low boil so that the water steams the beans. When they are bright green, and starting to soften, remove the lid. Let the water start to evaporate off. When it's almost gone, drizzle some oil over the beans and toss them around.
Stir the beans occasionally so that they get evenly browned.
When they are evenly browned and cooked through, turn off the heat, add the chopped garlic, and season with salt and pepper.
